Married At First Sight Recap: Will Tori and Jack make the distance?

During the commitment ceremony last night, Jack shocked Tori with his admission that he was very nervous about the seriousness of their relationship. He also expressed his belief that Tori is more invested in the relationship than he is.

I think this has been the case all season. You can see Tori is more physically affectionate, shares her feelings and speaks very highly of Jack. On the other hand, Jack keeps his cards close to his chest and avoids questions about his attraction to Tori. Even so, drama followed him throughout the experiment, with the ex-girlfriend article, the muzzle comment and his 'jokes' about the relationship behind closed doors. This girl is loyal, that's for sure. If I were Tori, I would have already run for the hills

Tori was blindsided by what he shared on the couch (can you blame her?). Jack expressed that he feels he will let her down earlier in the week. This comment is a self-fulfilling prophecy, which could mean one of two things:

A) Jack is trying to escape hurting Tori by preparing her for disappointment and does not want to be accountable for leading her on. Jack is a player and has been manipulating her this whole time.

B) Jack has some feelings for Tori but his ego and insecurity stop him from wanting to go deeper and commit to her.

I think Option A is more likely I think Jack is very performative and wants to go the end of the show with Tori, but wants set her expectations low, to appear less evil to the audience when he breaks her heart. I believe Jack is one of those guys who is always looking for the next best thing, and he is a narcissist who only looks out for himself.

Option B is often a defence mechanism used by men, usually players or non-committal, to avoid attachment and feelings. These types of men see rejection as a loss of ego and see attachment or feelings as a weakness.

I know many people have mixed feelings about Tori, but I felt particularly proud of her last night for opening up to the group about her feelings for Jack. I also liked the way Tori stood up for herself and told Jack that he should leave if he was uncertain about his feelings for her.

I sadly feel all of Tori's loyalty and feelings for Jack are going to go to waste. Jack takes Tori for granted, which is sad. I am sure many of you have been taken for ride by romantic partner too.

Take it easy on Tori; I see so many comments about how naive and stupid she is being with Jack. When you are with a gaslighter, they can pull you in, push you away, and bring you back in like no one else can. Jack is a master manipulator and has isolated Tori from most of the women and made her believe some crazy things.

The couple both end up writing to stay, but the real question is, how long will Jack stay?

Tune into MAFS at 7:30 tonight!
