Since Jayden and Eden arrived and walked down the aisle, the pair have been 'couple goals' during the experiment. The only hiccup was during confessions week when Jayden admitted he made his ex-girlfriend watch him and another girl have sex as revenge for her alleged cheating. From there, the couple has been smooth sailing, looking all loved up and close to exchanging the "L word".
Jayden and Eden started facing problems during the retreat after Sara confessed to Eden that she had seen her ex for dinner during the experiment despite being married to Tim. During the retreat week, it appeared Jayden and Eden were on the same page about telling Tim the truth. Sara's confession made Eden uncomfortable and anxious; you could see her withdraw and spiral during the retreat.
We find out Eden has anxiety, and Jayden seems confused and unsure how to support her. I'd hoped Jayden would look after Eden, so I was disappointed when he seemed to hold her anxiety against her.
Jayden is so quick to jump into conflict during the experiment, and his righteous and judgey attitude really bothers me at times. He loves to get involved with everyone else's relationships and play the hero. But can Jayden be Eden's hero?
From the latest commitment ceremony, we learned that Eden and Jayden disagreed about how the Sara incident was handled. I see Eden's point of view. She wanted to protect Sara, her friend, and she was nervous about being viewed as a snitch or sneaky by the rest of the cast. Judgey Jayden does not support her decision-making and instead pressures Eden to spill the tea to Tim and the rest of the cast.
I was disappointed that Jayden dismissed Eden's concerns, so I was not surprised when Eden snapped the retreat and told Jayden she wanted to leave the show. Eden should have clarified that she did not mean to leave him. This couple struggles at communication and having empathy for each other.
During the commitment ceremony, Jayden publically humiliates Eden, making her appear ungrateful and bitchy, talking about all the nice things he does for her and, at the same time, trashing her for not being the person he thought she was. Mr Kickboxer is far from perfect, and he should not be holding Eden to impossible standards. Everyone is allowed to lose their shit every once in a while.
I would also argue Jayden broke Eden's trust by revealing her mental health issues to the group; this is not appropriate. You should never point out someone's mental health conditions to a group or on national TV.
If Jayden and Eden want their relationship to work, they must find each other's love language. This week was a bump in the road, but I hope they can get through it. Love hard, Jayden and Eden!
