Welcome back to another MAFS recap! Let's watch some more couples get hitched!
The episode starts with John Aiken visiting Michael to deliver some sad news. Michael's match, Simon, has done a runner from the MAF's experiment. Simon ghosts the experiment, leaving only an email to announce his departure. John tells Michael they might be able to hook him up with another match for the experiment.
Our first pair getting hitched is Natalie (physiotherapist,32) and Collins (executive assistant, 28).
Natalie is our nerd of the season, looking for a man with BDE (big dork energy). Natalie is unique and 'she is not like other girls'.
Natalie is so out there she has wrinkles and plays games. Natalie had been in a long-term relationship, which ended. Natalie is so single her elderly physio clients are trying to set her up with their grandsons.
Here's a fun fact about trivia host Collins: he has never had a girlfriend. Collins has decided to play the game of love instead of trivia. Collins has never been able to escape the dreaded friend zone. If Collins plays his cards right, he might win the game of MAFS, I mean love.
The experts reckon the pair will get on because they are both nerds, and Natalie can be patient with Collins's lack of experience.
Our next pair is Jayden (Kickboxer,26) and Eden (Recruitment Manager, 28).
Jayden looks slightly familiar. OMG, he is Mitch Eynaud's brother (season 9, MAFS). Jayden is the opposite of Mitch; he is softy, romantic, and gentlemanly.
Our kickboxer tells us his battle scars of feeling judged and misunderstood because of his profession. Jayden was also cheated on by his previous partner, which left him devasted.
Jayden is matched with Eden, who loves her dog Cub and spends 90 per cent of her free time with him. Eden was double-crossed when her best friend and boyfriend slept together, so now we can see why the girl spends all her time with her dog.
The experts match Eden and Jayden together, hoping they can bond over their trust issues and healthy lifestyles.
To the weddings we go! Natalie takes a trip down the aisle and sprains her ankle. The crew carry poor Natalie to the wedding ceremony. Why do we need to wear heels on grass? This should be a safety hazard.
'We must keep going forward', Collins quotes a Walt Disney saying while shaking in his boots on the way to the wedding. The man is so nervous he forgets how to open a car door. Come on, Collins, pull it together!
Natalie walks down the aisle and seems stoked, whereas Collins is harder to read. The ceremony is a little on the awkward side, and I do not see the chemistry. Collins doesn't even remember Natalie's name after the ceremony. Collins, this is not a one-night stand where forgetting names is acceptable.
Eden walks down the aisle, and Jayden is ecstatic with his match. Eden tells Jayden in her vows that she already has another man in her life, Cub, her dog. Jayden's vows are sweet, and Eden's bridesmaids seem very impressed by her groom.
Jayden and Mitch have a strategy sesh at the reception, after Jayden voices his concerns that Eden does not like him. Mitch reassures his brother that Eden digs him.
The newly wedded couple has a cute moment on the swing, during which Eden tells Jayden that she really likes him.
Natalie and Collins's wedding is not going so well. Collins is feeling very overwhelmed and suffocated by Natalie's big dork energy. I feel like these two were an intentional mismatch, which is such a shame.
After the wedding, Natalie pulls Collins in for a chat and presents him with a player necklace to symbolise that he is her player 2 in life. Collins is not into it at all.
Collins decides he wants to sleep in a separate bed, to Natalie's disappointment. In the morning, Collins and Natalie chat about how Collins wants to take it 'slow'. Natalie has a little cry, which I think is relatable. What woman wants to feel rejected by her man, who meant to be her husband? You did shit job experts!
Jayden and Eden seem to be enjoying marital bliss. Jayden was perfectly gentlemanly, of course. (I do not trust them because she is blushing so profusely.) I think some action did happen last night.
In the next episode, we focus on Honeymoons and Honesty Box. It'll be a juicy one! See you next time.
